Catasticta pharnakia styx subspec. nov.’ Eitschberger & Racheli, 1998 (
Catasticta studies (Lepidoptera: Pieridae). — Neue Entomologische Nachrichten 41: 35; Pl. 5: Figs 47, 48). Type locality: ‘Ecuador, Prov. Morona Santiago, 30 Km S. Mendez, (700—900 m)’ (Eitschberger & Racheli, 1998: 32).
Holotype male, in USNM Washington DC, originally designated, with labels:
— (1) printed with handwritten inscriptions (on white paper) ‘19/21—X—71 (700—900 m) | 30 Km S. Mendez, | Prov. Morona—Santiago. | ECUADOR | leg. L.E. Peña’, on the back side handwritten ‘20. 323’; (2) printed with handwritten inscriptions, black framed (on white paper, red coloured above) ‘HOLOTYPE male USNM | Catasticta pharnakia | styx Eitschberger | & Racheli, 1998’ — [M 47: 352].
Known from a single specimen; holotype illustrated by Eitschberger & Racheli (1998: Pl. 5: Figs 47, 48). Originally described and currently treated as a subspecies of
Catasticta pharnakia Fruhstorfer, 1907 (Lamas, 2004: 111).
